I'm a year late, having just received the news, on December 16, 2020! But I wanted to share with Mike's family and friends my condolences on his passing. We worked together in Worcester, Massachusetts at WAAF circa 1975-79. Mike didn't make a lot of friends there, but I am glad to have been one of them. We never really stayed in touch, after he left town, but I followed his posts on social media. He had obviously had a difficult time earlier in life, but always maintained a good attitude toward his job and toward me and other people. And I was happy to share what was a great time in both of our lives in the "golden era" of FM rock radio. He sure knew his music, and I am confident that he is now at peace. I hope you all share the faith that we will hear his voice again someday, when we rejoin him "on the air", in heaven.

Just found out my old friend Michael Plath has departed this earth. We had some great times together. Mike was a talented, knowledgeable all around radio guy, and will be remembered as the air personality who brought The Flick to Burlington, top 40 to Binghamton FM, and Michael J. Raymond to the world. Many memories of hangin' out in that basement studio, listening to airchecks and talking about life in general. How his grandma put up with us, is still a mystery! Every station that Mike worked at benefitted from his cheerful presence and dependability. To Mike's family, sincere condolences. We will all miss him.

I knew Mike for a very long time. I don't remember how we met, but I used to hang out at his little pirate radio station (WKTR) in his old house on lower Sheridan Avenue. We were both wannbee dj's, and I was impressed Mike knew a lot of the air staff at WTRY. I remember (and have an aircheck of) how nervous and hyper he was doing his first-ever shift at WTRY. He went to WDOT Burlington for a bit after that, as "The Flick." Finally in 1970 he talked the people at WKOP in Binghamton into letting him take a shot with what had been their moribund, beautiful-music FM outlet. He recruited me and a few others and dragged his record library down to Binghamton. After I left it morphed into a very successful WAAL.
Mike and I drifted apart after that, although he still dropped in to visit my parents for dinner now and then, and I heard from him every Christmas. Mike was a good friend and a big part of my life for quite a few years. He was proud, ambitious, and generous to a fault. I am deeply saddened to hear of his death. Here's a heartfelt salute to all of you who knew Mike as a friend.

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:4
I am comforted by the fact you accepted Jesus Christ as your LORD and savior.
He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” Revelation 21:4
I am rejoicing for you, free from everything and flying high with the angels in the company of family.
I will always remember with joy our many drives to Thatcher Park.
Will miss your sense of humor and our many late night talks.

Michael, I know you are playing music up there in heaven and having the angels sing as loud as they can. I enjoyed the many tapes you sent over the years. It was great listening to some of the oldies. You were always the joker and liked to make us laugh. you were great at fixing things, especially radio and computer equipment. You will be missed, R.I.P. Until we meet again. Love & Blessings, Donna.

Mike your friendship will be missed. All the memories I have of hanging out with you on Lawrence St, your coming to the house for dinner and movies and our outings a few times. Your endless knowledge of radio was amazing. Your silly antics and crazy comments always brought laughs. I hope you are no longer in pain and that you are having a blast up there. I will see you again some day my friend.
