Obituary of Edward A. Hardt

Please share a memory of Edward to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rensselaer- On Monday, November 27, 2017 after a strong battle against many obstacles and surrounded by those he loved, Edward Hardt passed away from this world with dignity and peace. The family would like to extend our thanks to the special people in the St. Peter's ICU, especially Sherri and Stephanie, for the support and care given to all of us during this time. Ed leaves behind his wife, Roberta, and his sons and daughters-in-law- Mike and Nancy, Marty and Tara, Matthew and Keri-lyn, and Mark and Melissa. Also surviving are his grandchildren- Michael, Nicholas (Angela), Charlie, Drew, Morgan, Logan, Jenna, Devin, Skyler, Matthew, Josh and the newest loves of his life, the trio of happiness, great grandchildren, Nicholas, Jr., Julie Mae, and Johnny Mack. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Hilda, His Sister, Evelyn Blake, former wife, Jule Ann, and daughter Tracey. A longtime teacher at Rensselaer Junior Senior High School, Ed was a founding father of Rensselaer Pop Warner and a long-standing official for Capital District softball, baseball, basketball, and soccer. He was also the president and CEO of Fly-by-night and Close Enough Construction companies. At his request, there will be no formal services but he would not object to anyone lifting a glass or two in his memory. For those wishing to honor Ed, donations may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Southern Rensselaer County, 544 Broadway, Rensselaer, NY 12144 or Rensselaer Pop Warner, PO Box 376, Rensselaer, NY 12144- two organizations he supported throughout the years.
