Anne E. Murray-Wilt passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Albany Medical Center embraced by her loving family. Born in the Bronx on May 17, 1943, she was the daughter of the late John J. Murray and Christina Noone Murray Lewis and the step-daughter of Judge Laverne G. Lewis. She was educated in New York City before relocating to Rensselaer. Anne was the Assessor for the City of Rensselaer for 28 years, retiring 10 years ago. She always had a smile on her face no matter what the situation. Anne was very proud of her Irish heritage and loved celebrating it. She loved traveling, decorating her home and spending time in her beautiful garden. But most of all, Anne's joy were her children and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Anne will be forever missed by her loving children, Kelli Bonacquisti and John Murray, her favorite son-in-law, John Bonacquisti, and her two cherished grandchildren, Christine and John Bonacquisti. Anne is also survived by her beloved sisters, Kathleen (James) Corcoran, Syracuse, NY and Christina (James) Younger, Ellicott City, MD, several nieces and nephews and many cousins. Anne was pre-deceased by her beloved husband George Wilt, who she has missed dearly these past 10 years. Anne was a strong, courageous person who fought till the end. While her family will miss her forever and our hearts are broken, we are comforted knowing that she will spend eternity with her parents, beloved husband and her sweet dog, Maggie. Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Saturday, May 14 at 9:30 AM. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-7 PM. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and doctors of the MICU at Albany Medical Center for their kind and compassionate care given to Anne.
