William J. Lyons III is a licensed funeral director who has been serving his community since 1979. A native of Rensselaer and the son of William J. Lyons Jr., the original proprietor of the funeral home, Bill, affectionately called by many, has been involved with the business since his early years. Bill’s wealth of experience and unwavering dedication render him an indispensable member of the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home Inc., team. Although Bill is not as actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the funeral home, he still enjoys connecting with families by greeting them with a friendly smile at calling hours and assisting with funerals whenever he can. His love for the community remains strong. In his leisure time, Bill is an avid golfer and spends his winters enjoying the sport in Florida. His quick wit and wonderful sense of humor keeps it light-hearted within the office. Another fact you may find interesting is that his favorite color is plaid.
Caitlin M. Mooney is a highly experienced and licensed funeral director who has been serving the community since 2008. She started her residency at the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home Inc., in 2007 and has been a partner since 2018. In 2021 she and her husband Terence, purchased the Ray Funeral Service Inc., from Martin Ray, now known as the Castleton Funeral Home, LLC., in the hopes of extending her caring service to the village of Castleton-on-Hudson and the surrounding area. With her years of experience and expertise, Caitlin has become a trusted resource to many families during their difficult times. In addition to her professional endeavors, she is a proud mother of three and enjoys gardening in her free time. Caitlin is a go-getter who is passionate about everything she does, both professionally and personally.
Crystal L. Rodriguez is a licensed funeral director who has been serving the community since 2020. She began her career at the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home Inc., in 2022 and has quickly become a valuable member of the team. Crystal is passionate about her work and loves the community and the people she serves. She relocated from NYC with her husband and three children in 2019 and has since become an integral part of the community. With her compassionate nature and commitment to excellence, Crystal has earned the respect and trust of many families during their most difficult times.
Richard J. "Dick" Gagnon graduated from Herkimer High School in 1978 and from Herkimer County Community College and Simmons School of Mortuary Science in 1980 where he earned his AAS degree. He started in funeral service working for his father, Arthur Richer, in 1972 in Herkimer and has been a licensed funeral director for over 40 years. The majority of those years were spent serving Northern Columbia and Southern Rensselaer Counties, as he continues to do today. He is married to his wife Cheryl (Warner) Gagnon and has two lovely daughters, Regina and Celia Gagnon. Dick is a past Assistant Chief of the Kinderhook Fire Co., as well as a longtime member of both the Kinderhook Elks Lodge #2530 and the Northern Columbia Lions Club. Dick enjoys playing golf, hunting, fishing, making maple syrup and spending time with his family and friends.
Born in Albany, to Paul and Lisa (Cioffi) Toomey, Kean has been a lifelong resident of Averill Park, NY. He has two older sisters Faith (Joshua) Skibbee and Maeve Toomey. He is a graduate of La Salle Institute in Troy, NY. Kean also graduated from Hudson Valley Community College in 2023, with an A.A.S in Mortuary Science. While in college, Kean worked for many local funeral homes to apply the classroom principles to the daily application in the funeral home. Kean came to the funeral home, in a full-time capacity, beginning in January of 2023. Following the passing of his grandfather, Kean had a call to funeral service starting at a young age. Kean comes from a multi-generational family of funeral directors. He has been a life-long parishioner of St. Henry’s Parish, in Averill Park. He is also a member of the La Salle Institute Alumni Association, where he is the Class of 2019 Class Representative. Kean is also a member of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO) Board #36, where he enjoys teaching the new officials training classes. Outside of the funeral home, Kean enjoys playing golf, boating, and spending time with family and friends.
