Obituary of Carmela M. Dolly Servidone

Please share a memory of Carmela to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

East Greenbush- Carmela “Dolly” Servidone, age 83, entered into eternal life Thursday morning, September 14, 2023. Dolly was born and raised in the Mont Pleasant area of Schenectady, to Joseph and Mary DiBlasio.

After her graduation she remained as an active member of her High School class reunion committee for many years. She then went on to work at the NYS Division for Youth for many years. Following her retirement, she worked for the East Greenbush Central School District.

Dolly was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and an active member of the East Greenbush community. The most important thing to Dolly was her family and a spotless house. There was nothing she loved more than a family barbecue, and would travel all over to support her kids and grandkids in all their endeavors. She thoroughly enjoyed volunteering, not only in her own community, but for venues like SPAC, Mac-Haydn Theater, and Capital Repertory. She was an avid supporter of Columbia Athletics and enjoyed the friendships she made over the years with the families of the student athletes.

Dolly is survived and will be missed by her sons Mark (Shelley) Servidone and Anthony Servidone; her sister RoseMarie (Al) Baer, and brother-in-law Jack McDonald; her beloved grandchildren, Christopher (Lauren) Farnan and Jena (Nicholas) Servidone Balzano and 4 great grandchildren, Rylan, Everly, and Mack Farnan, and Leo Balzano. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Dolly is predeceased by her sister JoAnn McDonald.
