Rensselaer – Ann R. Malatesta, 80, passed away on July 5, 2023. She was born on September 18, 1942, in North Albany.

Ann went to Albany Public Schools and enjoyed being a homemaker.  She was interested in family genealogy, spending time at the library tracing family ancestry.  Ann raised Shih Tzu puppies years ago and cherished her animals. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, but above all she loved spending time with her family. Ann’s kitchen table was always the place for the family to gather.

Wife of the late Patsy Malatesta. Mother of Mary, Thomas (Michele), Anthony, Patsy, and Sean (Lisa) and the late Henry Malatesta. Grandmother of Jessica (Cameron), Michael, Marissa (Marty), and Erika (Matt), Sean, Vincent, Maria (Pat), Nicholas, and Isabelle. Great grandmother of Raegan, Kennedy, and Benjamin Moore, and Mason Fletcher. Daughter of the late Thomas Mahan Sr. and Mary Mahan (Fiacco). Sister of Thomas, Jr., Peter (Elise), Nadine, William, Marialana (Edward) Sapienza and the late Sante Mahan. She is also survived by numerous nieces, and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call to the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave, Rensselaer, NY on Monday, July 10, 2023, from 4-7 pm.  Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 10 am at the funeral home.  Burial to immediately follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
