Obituary of Charles W. Stock, Sr.

Rensselaer - Charles W. Stock Sr., age 91, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2023.  He was the son of Charles M. and Clara D. (Carman) Stock.

Charlie was a graduate of Van Rensselaer High School.  In 1952 he enlisted in the Air Force where he became a member of the Air Police.  He was very proud of his military service and especially treasured his time being stationed in England.  In 1958 Charlie married the love of his life, Barbara Jeffries. They were lifelong residents of Rensselaer, living in the same home for 59 years. In their later years they could be spotted together walking all over Rensselaer.

Along with his parents, Charlie was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Barbara, his son Charles Jr. and his brother Bernard.

Charlie is survived by his daughters Tracey, Tammi (John) and Kristi (Ryan) Winston; his grandchildren, Antoni and Brandon Sousa, Calin Stock, Abigael and Jaxen Winston; and several great-grandchildren.

Charlie's daughters would like to thank the staff of Elderwood Village at Colonie for the care and friendship they provided to Charlie over the last six years.

Family and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 10am-12pm to the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer, with a service to follow at 12pm. Burial to immediately follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
