Obituary of Catherine E. Arduini

Rensselaer-Catherine E. Arduini, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 26, 2023. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of William H. and Isabelle (Halleran) Owens.

Catherine was a 1968 graduate of Mercy High School in Albany and later went on to attend and receive a degree from Mildred Elly in Albany. Following her graduation, she worked at Huyck Felt Research in Rensselaer and then Intermagnetics in Guilderland. Later, she would work for Cardio Mag Imaging in Latham. 

Catherine was a communicant of both St. Joseph Church in Rensselaer and Blessed Sacrament Church in Albany, where she taught religious instruction.  She was loved by many and spent most of her life caring for others. She often volunteered her time at Christ Child Society by collecting and delivering baby items for local families in need.

Catherine will be greatly missed by her beloved family. She leaves behind her brother John J. Owens (Coleen) and her twin sister Sr. Mary Ellen Owens; and her adored nieces and nephews, Meghan Owens Cline (Andrew), Ian Owens (Margaret), Colin Owens, Stephanie Gatzendorfer, Chelsea LaTulip, Cody Gatzendorfer, Sadia Chaudry, Callie and Scotti Lynn LaTulip, and Jinshu and Alida Owens.  

Along with her parents, Catherine is predeceased by her beloved husband, the late Carmen Arduini; her brothers, Thomas Owens and LT. Col. William Owens and her nephew, Scott Owens.

Family and friends are invited and may call to the W.J. Lyons, Jr., Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer, on Friday June 30, 2023 from 4-7pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Convent of the sisters of Mercy, 634 New Scotland Avenue, Albany on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 10 am. Burial will immediately follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
