Obituary of Michael W. Rice, Sr.

Wynantskill- Michael W. “Mike” Rice, Sr. age 62, passed away at home Friday, March 17, 2023. Mike was born in Springfield, Mass. and was a resident of the capital district most of his life. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying time hunting and fishing.  Mike was known to tinker with cars and electronics on the weekends.  He was a true animal lover and would take in any stray cats that were around the neighborhood. Son of the late Francis J. Jr., and Vivian H. (Wyszomirski) Rice. Father of Lisa and Mike, Jr. Brother of Frank, Bill and Kathy and the late Joey. 

Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer Friday, March 24^th at 2PM.  Relatives and friends are invited and may call prior to the service on Friday from 12-2PM.  In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donation be made to Voice for The Voiceless in Schenectady, Mohawk Humane Society, and Empawthy Animal Rescue Inc., in Latham.
