Obituary of Anastasia H. Traegler

Colonie- Anastasia “Nancy” H. Traegler, age 91, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.  Nancy was born and raised in Rensselaer, attended and graduated from St. John’s School. In 1960 she moved to Colonie alongside her husband to raise her family.  She was a woman of great faith and loved her church.  She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Rosary Altar Society and often volunteered at the Thrift Shop. She worked in the Main Office of the Colonie Central High School and retired in 1999. Nancy enjoyed attending many of her grandchildren’s school activities and sporting events. Nancy leaves behind fond memories of singing and dancing in the kitchen with her girls.

Above all she loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Beloved wife of 66 years to Thomas J. Traegler. Loving mother of Mary T. Bell, Jean Guilbeault (Leon), Elaine Ellington (Jesse); cherished grandmother of Mallory and Kaitlyn Bell, Lisa, Adam and Jason Rice, Jesse IV and Katherine Ellington; adoring great grandmother of Lucas Bell, Addison and Gavin Cesternino, Mason and Lincoln Rice, and Violet Bass. She is also survived by her brothers, Fred and Paul Hill, her sister of her heart, Phyllis Hill, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer, Monday at 9:30am and 10:30am at St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph Catholic Church, Herrick Street, in Rensselaer. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday, January 29, 2023 from 3:00-6:00pm. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
