Averill Park-John R. Thorsen, 84, of Averill Park, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2023, with his wife Nancy by his side.

John was born on January 6, 1939, in Newburgh, to the late John and Irene Sigmund Thorsen. He was a 1957 graduate of Guilderland High School. John was the owner of Rayge Display, Inc. in Albany for 40 years until his retirement in 2018. In addition, he volunteered countless hours coaching with St. Henry's CYO Basketball as well as Twin Town Little League and Senior League. John loved his vacations camping in Maine, with family and friends.  He enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams, the NY Yankees and the NY Giants. He was also a season ticket holder of the Tri-City ValleyCats. John was never happier than while supporting his grandchildren in any of their activities.
