Obituary of Doris A. Felts

Rensselaer-Doris Ann Felts passed peacefully on October 24, 2022 joining her husband Paul Sr. (Skip) and best friend Mary Lou Hamlin. Doris was born Nov. 29, 1922 in Cohoes to Joseph Baird & Sarah O’Connell where she graduated from Keveny Memorial Academy. Married on Nov. 30, 1940, she moved to San Diego with Skip Sr.  They returned in 1944 and remained life-long residents of Rensselaer, NY.  She retired from NYS Tax & Finance and was active in the St. John’s Church Parish Council, J N Ring Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and Rensselaer Senior Citizen Center. 

She was preceded by her daughter-in-law Albertine (Paul), brothers Joseph (Alice), Kenneth (Alva), Arnold (Marilyn), Lawrence (Geraldine) and sister Mary. 

Doris is survived by her two sons, Paul “Skip” Felts, Jr. and John F. Felts, six grandchildren Rene Felts Paluba and Paul A Felts, III (Carol); Andrea Brown, Yolanda Frame, John Felts and Jessica Benson; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. 

Services will be held this Friday, October 28th at St. John's Church, Herrick Street, Rensselaer with viewing from 11:30-12:30 followed by mass at 12:30.

Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre cemetery Rensselaer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or charity of one’s choice.
