Rensselaer- Joseph H. Bond, Jr. age 64 passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022, after a long illness surrounded by his loving family.  Joe was born in Albany and was a lifelong resident of the City of Rensselaer. He was employed by the NYS OGS for over 30 years. Joe was a dedicated member of the Sons of the Gerald O’Neil American Legion Post, and a charter member of the F.O.E. Aerie 4446.  Joe proudly volunteered his time to serve veterans in many capacities and in his spare time he enjoyed playing golf with his friends. Joe was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He cherished time spent with his family.  

Beloved husband of Mabel Dooris Bond.  Loving father of Michael (Marnetha), Christina, Shannon, Joseph, III and Brandon Bond. Grandfather of Lyric Cook. Son of Catherine Winnie Bond and the late Joseph H. Bond, Sr. Special nephew of William Winnie. Brother of Kathleen Primero, James Bond, Sharon Roberts, Darlene (John) George and the late Shirley Bond. He is also survived by his beloved dog Tino and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer, Tuesday March 8 at 10 AM.  All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Monday evening from 4-7PM. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Albany. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Fisher House, 113 Holland Avenue, Albany, NY 12208.
