Obituary of Paul S. Anderson

Please share a memory of Paul to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Rensselaer – Paul S. Anderson, 65, of Rensselaer, passed away into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 31st, 2022, with his loving wife by his side.

Paul was born on December 26, 1956. He was the son of the late George and Gertrude Anderson. He was a graduate of Averill Park High School. Paul recently retired from a job that he thoroughly enjoyed as a groundskeeper and substitute bus driver for the Averill Park School District for 31 years.

For those who knew Paul, you knew he was kind. He always found the good in everyone he met. Paul delighted in serving others, and he did it well, always with a smile, a gentle spirit, and a pure and giving heart. He never missed an opportunity to bless others.

Paul was an active member of his church, and it was evident he carried the Lord with him wherever he went. He had a heart for the hungry and the vulnerable, who maybe just needed a little love and respect. He included all people. He loved all things outdoors and was in awe of even the littlest things in God’s creation. We can only imagine his wonder at the beauty of Heaven.

His laugh was infectious.  He was always so positive and enthusiastic, you couldn’t help but feel that way around him, too. He was the kind of person you just wanted to be around. He was a one-of-a-kind, sweet soul, and a very great privilege to know this side of Heaven.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Kerry. He leaves behind several brothers and sisters, Douglas Anderson of Brunswick, George (Nancy) Anderson of Troy, Barbara (Glen) Berner of Averill Park, Regina (Charles) Ferguson of Hoosick Falls, Elizabeth King of Brunswick, and Catherine (Matthew) Bergmann of Averill Park. In addition, he leaves behind several nieces and nephews, along with great nieces and nephews.
