East Greenbush- Mary P. Hofelich passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born in Rensselaer and has been a lifelong resident of the Capital District. She worked for and retired from the New York Telephone Company in Menands. Mary dedicated much of her life to helping others. Upon retirement, she continued to volunteer at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, the Cathedral’s food pantry and social services, and would provide help to anyone in need. She loved bowling, swimming, taking long walks and many Monday lunches at the Fountain with her dear friends. But mostly, Mary enjoyed spending time with her family. Wife of the late Charles C. Hofelich. Mother of Claudia A. Fisher and the late Charles P. Hofelich. Grandmother of Claudia L. Fisher (Peter A. Mancini) and Melissa M. Jensen. Great Grandmother of Alaina A. Jensen and Callie M. Jensen. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The funeral will be held at the W. J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Friday 10:00 AM. All are welcome to attend. Calling hours will be at the funeral home Thursday from 4-7 PM. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery Glenmont. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY, 965 Albany Shaker Road, Latham, NY 12110.
