Rensselaer- Janalene “Bonnie” Evans was born March 23rd, 1931 in Wellsburg, West Virginia and passed away peacefully on June 12th, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Harry Bryan Hill and Ruth Deuley, and wife of seventy-two years to the late Edward Thomas Evans, Sr. Bonnie worked as a window designer at Wells and Coverly Men’s Shop in Syracuse, NY before retiring and moving to Connecticut, Florida, and back to Albany, NY. Bonnie is survived by her two children, Jacqueline Nizer (Frank) and Edward Thomas Evans, Jr. (Mary Jane).Also survived by her sister Linda Bort; her five grandchildren; Marie Hutchings, Mark Nizer (Eileen), Tracy Marco (Marc), Jennifer Nizer (Zachary Kaiser), and Sydney Shaw (Hal Brown); and six great- grandchildren; Ashley Hutchings, Nathan Williams, Adeline Nizer, Connor Licamele, Jack Nizer, and Liam Nizer. Bonnie is predeceased by her sister Darlene; brothers Claude, William, and Norman; and her great-grandchild Carly Hutchings. The family wishes to thank the workers at the Community Hospice of Rensselaer, especially Beth, Eileen, and Penny; and also all the workers at Loudonville Assisted Living for their kind and compassionate care. Funeral service will be in the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Thursday, June 17th at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are invited and may call prior to the service from 10 – 11:30 AM. Masks are required for those who are not fully vaccinated. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in East Greenbush. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the following organizations: Make-a-Wish of Syracuse, NY; Community Hospice of Rensselaer, NY; or the Autism Society of the Greater Capital Region.
