Colonie- Caroline “Carol” J. Benvenuti age 56 passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born in Albany, was a lifelong resident of the City of Rensselaer before moving to Colonie eight years ago. She won many trophies for twirling a baton with the Trojan High Steppers in her youth. Carol was employed by the Rensselaer City School District for many years. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Fiancé of Philip Sayer, Jr. Mother of Kasey Sayers and Philip Sayers, III. Grandmother of Evan and Aubrey. Daughter of the late Geno and Peggy Benvenuti. Sister of Theresa, Tony, Keith and the late Gene, Jr. Stepsister of Al Niemiec. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer Monday at Noon for the immediate family only due to the current Covid-19 restrictions. Relatives and friends are invited and may call prior to the private service from 10-12PM. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
