East Nassau- Donald T. Myers age 68 of East Nassau, NY passed unexpectedly at his home on January 21, 2021 from a heart attack due to his recent battle with Covid-19. His loss was completely unexpected and the family is shocked and deeply saddened. Donald was born on March 31, 1952 to the late George and Esther Myers of Albany NY. Donald attended Albany High, and graduated with his high-school and vocational diploma as a precision sheet metal mechanic. Donald retired from the Sheet Metal Workers International Association Local Union No. 83 after almost 30 years. Donald leaves behind his loving wife, Sherrie J. (Bergeron) Lawton Myers; son Leon (Rhonda) Lawton; daughter Tara (Kenneth) Cruz, and his grandson Vincent J. Toledo. Donald enjoyed fishing passionately and spending time with his wife at their home hosting many events in which became a tradition for those who knew them for many years. Anyone who knew Donald, was drawn to his incredibly kind heart, immense passion and dedication towards living an abstinent life. He was always a source of motivation and positivity. He believed whole-heartedly in taking it one day at a time. He has certainly left his mark on many lives and hearts and will be dearly missed. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, services will take place at a later date. Burial in the spring will be in East Nassau Cemetery. Contributions in his memory can be made to the American Heart Association. The family has also set up a facebook page In Memory of Donald Myers and encourages loving stories and memories to be shared.
