Rensselaer - Claire Dings died peacefully on December 15, 2020 while residing with her daughter, Joanne Larkin in Ballston Spa. Claire was born on May 25, 1928 in Bennington Vermont to William and Alma McGuire. Claire attended nursing school at Albany Medical College and graduated with the class of 1949. Claire worked as a nurse at Albany Medical Hospital during the 1950’s. She was also employed as a nurse at Brookview Medical Group in Castleton New York for many years. Claire was a dedicated care giver and cared for many people during her life. She was a communicant of Saint Michael the Archangel Parish in Troy, New York and Saint Joseph’s in Rensselaer, New York. Claire was a devoted mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family at her camp on the Great Sacandaga. She especially loved being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by her family. Claire was predeceased by her husband Henry Dings, and her sister Doris McGuire, and infant brother William. She leaves behind her daughters and their families: Joanne Larkin (Kenneth), Christine Drosky (Michael), Lynda Seiling (Jay) and Lisa Ribeiro (Gus). She leaves her grandchildren Justin Deming (Courtney), Meghan Connelly (Mark), Stephanie Hunziker (Jason), Evan Drosky and Lucia Ribeiro. She had five great grandchildren: Liam and Jack Connelly, Emery and Maren Deming and Hank Hunziker. Those who wish to remember Claire in a special way are invited to make a donation to Saratoga Hospice at 179 Lawrence St. Saratoga Springs New York 12866. Services will be private for the family.
