Obituary of Amy L. Mahar

Amy (Seney) Mahar, 61, of East Greenbush, NY passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018 at St. Peter's Hospital. Amy endured a courageous battle with ALS disease. She was the beloved friend, partner and wife of Steve Mahar. Amy was born May 4,1957, in Albany, NY, the daughter of the late Robert Seney and the late Edith (Cookingham) Seney. Amy graduated from Rensselaer High School with the class of 1975. She worked at Freihofer's Bakery for 29 years. Amy is survived by her husband Steve Mahar, daughter Stephenie Mahar, stepson Daniel Mahar, (4) sisters and (4) brothers. Special thanks and recognition to St. Peter's Albany Regional ALS Center and the Community Hospice group for their support, assistance and care for Amy and family as we journeyed together through the final chapter of her life's story. Amy loved life, her family, gardens and home life, including her daily runs, Zumba, work-out classes, music and dancing. We will miss her unforgettable smile that beamed of her love of life, and happy free spirit that will continue to touch us all. To commemorate the beautiful life and touching spirit that was Amy, please join us for a celebration of Amy's life, on September 15th at the home of Tom Paley, 3649 NY RT 150, East Greenbush, NY 12061 commencing at 2PM. Memorial donations may be made in behalf of St Peters Regional ALS Center & Community Hospice organizations.
