Rensselaer- Jean M. (Brady) Hayes, 91, of Rensselaer, passed peacefully Tuesday morning January 1, 2019.  Jean was born to the late William and Eva Brady and was a lifelong resident of Rensselaer.  After graduating from Van Rensselaer High School, she began working at the D&H Railroad where she met her husband Leo J. Jean was a member of the Rosary Altar Society for the Church of St John the Evangelist and St Joseph, the Democratic party for the city of Rensselaer, and she volunteered for organizations such as the Red Cross and St. Josephs school cafeteria.  She loved her church and her city but most of all she cherished spending time with her family, whether it was the annual summer vacations on Cape Cod or preparing her weekly Sunday dinners.

She was predeceased by her husband Leo, her sister Mary Kosakoski, and her brothers Charles and Joseph Brady (her fraternal twin).

Jean is survived by four children:  Kathleen (Kevin) Morris, Stephen (Margaret) Hayes, Maureen (Andrew) Keefe, and Michael (Jerry) Hayes.  She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Carrie (John) Bayly, Ryan (Kelly) Morris, Christopher (Kim) Morris, Eric Morris, Benjamin (Maria) Hayes, Neil Hayes, Gregory Hayes, Andrew (Rebecca) Keefe and Carley Keefe. Also, she is survived by 10 great grand-children, Grace, John and Sarah Bayly, Jack and Noah Morris, Kayla and Joe Morris, Amelia and Anthony Hayes and Juliana Keefe.

The family would like to thank her aide Tammy Wolfe, the staff at Evergreen Commons as well as the nurses at Memorial Hospital (Heart Program Infusion Unit) for the wonderful care that they provided for our mother.
