Obituary of Carson R. Keeling

Carson R. Keeling, 78, passed away at Northeast Center in Lake Katrine on Saturday, November 4 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born in Auburn on January 17, 1939, and was the son of the late Arthur and Clara Kullick Keeling. He was a graduate of Broadalbin High School and served in the United States Marine Corps. Carson retired after a lifelong career in sales. He had lived in Johnstown, Pittsfield, Castleton, and most recently, in Troy at The Pines at Heartwood , where he was voted "Most Neighborly Resident" and was also elected President of the Residents' Council. Known for his charm and sense of humor, Carson enjoyed music, dancing, and sports, and he loved animals, especially dogs. He is survived by his 6 children, Kimberly (Charles) Francis (Rensselaer, NY); Carson (Irene) Keeling, Jr. (Johnstown, NY); Tracy (Richard) Gutowski (Amsterdam, NY); Christopher (Rome) Keeling (Windemere, FL); Jeffrey (Sanjuana) Keeling (Covina, CA); Grant (Elizabeth) Keeling (Albany, NY); 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A committal service with military honors will be held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville on Monday, November 27 at 11:30 a.m. All friends and family are welcome to attend. Contributions in Carson's memory can be made to the American Cancer Society.
