Rensselaer- Fusco, Laura, A. "Nonie", 97, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. Laura was born in Buffalo, NY, daughter of the late Urbano and Linda (Ceresani) Cardori; and beloved wife of the late Gaetano P. Fusco. Laura left home at an early age to pursue her career as a professional tap dancer. She was professionally known as "Toby Leslie, That little barrel of dynamite!". She also waitressed in many downtown Albany establishments and the Tropicana Casino & Hotel where she was a member of the Southern Nevada Culinary Union. Laura is predeceased by her son Joseph P. Fusco, her son-in-law Richard A. Brady, and sisters Lillian Beaver, Helen Dewitt, Elsa Fox and Mary Treffiletti. She is survived by her daughter Cecilia (Kowalski) Brady, son Guy Michael (Donna) Fusco; grandchildren Stephen R. (Linda) and Richard A. (Diane) Brady, Teresa A. (Brian) Girard, Mark J.(Frances) and Brian M. Fusco, Kelly (Steve) Sheehan; great-grandchildren Matthew S., James G., Shawn M. and Nicholas J. Brady, Alyssa and Evan J. Dessingue, Dominic J. and Carmen F. Fusco, Connor J. and Mandy Sheehan and great-great granddaughter Madison Marie Brady; sister Catherine Musella; daughter-in-law Rose Fusco Peterson and dear friend Margie Waterbury. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer, Saturday morning at 9:00 and 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph's Church, Herrick St., Rensselaer where the funeral mass will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-7 PM. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush. The family would like to extend their special thanks to the nurses and staff at St. Peter's Hospital Cardiac Care Unit and The Hospice Inn for their compassionate care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Hospice Inn, St. Peter's Hospital, 315 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
