Rensselaer-Dorothy M. Deitz DuBois age, 79 years, passed away on Tuesday August 9, 2016. She was born in Rensselaer and was a lifelong resident of the city. Dot was retired from Amtrak. She was a lover of birds, cats and her garden, but most of all she was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Daughter of Emily Maxwell Deitz and the late Ivan Deitz; mother of Cheryl (Joe) Keefe and Joann (Jeff) Peck both of East Greenbush; grandmother of Joseph (Gina) Keefe, III, Nicholas Keefe, Courtney Peck and Colton Peck; great-grandmother of Joseph Keefe, IV; sister of Joan (Harvey) Goldstein, Eileen (Bill) Clemens, Donald (Jane) Deitz and the late Ivan Deitz and Delores Deitz. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no evening calling hours. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society 3 Oakland Avenue Menands, NY 12204.
