Stephentown-Carol A. Van Wagner Avanzato, age, 66 years, passed away at her residence on Saturday, June 25, 2016. She was born in Hudson and lived in Mellenville in Columbia County before moving to Stephentown 10 years ago. Carol was employed as a technician for Berkshire Medical Center. She was a cat lover who had two cats, Tika and Molly. Carol loved flowers and her garden and she loved to travel. She enjoyed going to Disney World and her encounters with Mickey Mouse. Daughter of the late Roy and Bertha Whitbeck Van Wagner; sister of Sharon Van Wagner and Jean Dellea; aunt of Karen and Roxanne Matthews; great aunt of Adam Matthews. Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Thursday morning at 10:00. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral Wednesday from 4-7 pm. Interment will be in Mellenville Cemetery, Claverack.
