Obituary of Gail E. Moxon

Gail E. Moxon, 81, passed away at Van Rensselaer Manor on April 18, 2024. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Burton E. Hulsopple and Jessie E. Henry.  Gail was employed by the Rensselaer County Department of Social Services for over 20 years as a case worker prior to her retirement.  She was a very loving and family-oriented woman who loved traveling to Port Orange, Florida yearly to enjoy the warm weather.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband William D. Moxon, Sr.; daughters Linda Moxon and Pamela Murphy; brother Charlie Hulsopple; sisters, Beverly Quickenton and Kimberly Fusco; son in law Scott Laymon.  She is survived by her children William Moxon (Dee), Susan Laymon, Edward Moxon (Jami), David Moxon (Kristy) and Joyce Harris (Tom); brother Bud Hulsopple (Cindy) as well as 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Van Rensselaer Manor, especially Jessie, Kerri, and Jen for the care and compassion shown to Gail.

A service of remembrance will be held at the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave. Rensselaer on Thursday, April 25 at 6:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Gail’s family prior to the service Thursday evening from 4:00-6:00 p.m.  Interment will be in New Rural Cemetery, East Greenbush.
