Valatie-Norman R. Jones, 88, unexpectedly passed away March 2, 2024, in FL while visiting his beloved granddaughter, Kyla and her significant other Eddie. The son of the late Norman and Rita (Bergeron) Jones was born November 8, 1935, in Springfield, MA.

He was a graduate of Cathedral High School Springfield and University of Massachusetts Amherst where he majored in business. He spent his career working for Aetna Life and Casualty. He married his wife Patricia Delehanty on June 20, 1975, and moved to Columbia County in 1976 settling in Valatie. They were members of Winding Brook Country Club for 40 years, spending the summer months enjoying golf with friends. You may have also seen him during his daily shopping trips in Hannaford. He was an avid fan of the NY Giants, Boston Red Sox and Celtics. He was also a long-standing and active member of the Kinderhook Elks Lodge. He enjoyed betting on the ponies at OTB, and even mastered the smart phone app. He will forever be remembered for his humor, wit, and fierce sense of loyalty.

Norm was a loving husband, father, Papa, and friend who was loved greatly and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of almost 49 years, Patricia; son Michael (Stacy) Crudele of Concord, NC; daughter Lauren (Rob) of Kinderhook, NY; five grandchildren, Lindsay (Sam) Rape of Concord, NC, Trevor Crudele (Fowler) of Raleigh, NC, Kyla Elliott (Eddie) of Riverview FL, Chase and Lainey Morrison of Kinderhook NY, and many nieces and nephews.
