Rensselaer- Frances (Sweet) Joyce age 79 years of Rensselaer passed away suddenly, Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Riverside Center in Castleton. She was born in Schodack and resided at the Red Mill Apartments in Rensselaer. Frances was employed as an inspector by Sterling Drug Co. until they closed. She also managed Red Mill Apts. for years. Frances enjoyed ceramics and needle point. She loved spending time with her great grandchildren and son. In her spare time she liked bowling and going to baseball games. Daughter of the late Charles and Luella (Haberkern) Sweet. Mother of James (Evelyn) Perone and the late Thomas Ruddy. Grandmother of Crystal (Louis) Polsinello and Alisha (Rick) Perone. Great grandmother of Tyler Sousa, Louis Polsinello IV and Angelo Polsinello. She was the sister of the late Marietta Sweet (Edward) Gardenier. Aunt of Edward (Sharon), Larry, Carrie and Aaron (Stephanie) Gardenier and Meggan (John) and Luciana Tafilowski. Funeral from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Saturday at 12:00 PM. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home prior to the service from 10:00 AM - 12:00PM. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
