Albany - Michael "Mo" P. O'Connell, 72, died, Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Albany County Residential Health Care Facility.
Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Patrick and Anna (Clas) O'Connell, and husband of the late Patricia (Hext) O'Connell and Maryann (Buchanan) O'Connell. Michael worked as an auditor for the NYS Controller's Office for over 30 years.
Michael is survived by his son Brian M. O'Connell of Albany and his brother Raymond O'Connell of San Diego, CA.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at noon in the W. J. Lyons, Jr., Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home beginning at 10am. Burial will follow the service in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Capital City Rescue Mission, 259 South Pearl Street Albany, NY 12202.
