Colonie- Monica A. McMahon age 47 of Colonie passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. She was born in Albany and has resided in Colonie for most of her life. Monica was a partner in Troy's Landscape Supply Co., Inc. with her longtime friend Troy B. Miller. Monica was an incredibly social individual who put everyone at ease and enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. She also had an unyielding love for animals including her dog Hooch and kitty Gepetto and was a member of the ASPCA. Monica graduated from Shaker High School, HVCC with an AS degree in early childhood development and The College of St. Rose with a BS degree in communication sciences and disorders. Cherished daughter of John J. McMahon, Jr. and Barbara A. Houle McMahon. Caring sister of Wayne (Jennifer) McMahon. Beloved fiancé of William D. Schenk. Nurturing step-mother of William W. Schenk. Devoted niece of Janice J. Lebrecht and Mark D. Houle (Thomas Fedoryszyn). Loving aunt of Wayne McMahon (Rachel Stevens), Zac McMahon (Coty Demers) and Skye Purzycki (Adam Daigler). Loved by Walter and Theresa Schenk, Special sister-in-law of Walter Jr. and Theresa Schenk, Deb and Chris Coonrad and June and Ray Lane. Funeral from the W. J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Thursday morning at 9:00 and 10:00 at St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph Church, Herrick Street Rensselaer, where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery East Greenbush.
