Yolanda A. Filippini

Albany - Yolanda A. Filippini, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Born in Albany in 1942, she was the cherished daughter of the late Carmine and Caterina (Baggetta) Filippini. Yolanda was a proud graduate of the Philip Schuyler School and received her Bachelor's Degree in Science from the College of St. Rose. She dedicated many years of service as a Histology laboratory technician for the New York State Department of Health in Albany, where her quiet diligence and strong work ethic left a lasting impression.

Yolanda was known for her gentle spirit, kind heart, and unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed by her loving niece Diane Nardacci and her husband Tony, as well as her beloved brother Frank Filippini along with many other nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. In addition to her parents, Yolanda was predeceased by her siblings Amelia Gimondo, Rose Smith, Dominic Filippino, Eda Filippino, Nicholas Filippini, and her soulmate Donald O'Connor whom she shared her love of the outdoors with.

Relatives and friends are invited and may visit with the family on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 4-6pm, to the W.J. Lyons Jr., Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer. A funeral service will be held the following morning, Wednesday at 10:00 AM, at the funeral home, with interment to follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.

The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Albany Medical Center for their wonderful care they gave Yolanda.
