William J. Malark

William "Bill" J. Malark, 68, resident of Schodack NY passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at home surrounded with loved ones. He was born at Brady Hospital in Albany NY. Son of Michael Malark and Marion Malark (Lippoth). Bill grew up in the City of Rensselaer with his four brothers, Michael, Dennis, Timothy, and Daniel Malark. In addition to four sisters Patricia Malark, Jean Preston, Marion Filieau,and Nancy Noland. Bill was a devoted husband to Laurie Malark for 36 years and a loving father of three daughters, Karley, Erica, and Erin Malark and two step sons Shawn and Jeffrey Letzelter. Bill spent most of his days spending quality time with his loved ones. He came from a large family with several nieces and nephews. He loved to go on long drives with his wife and girls and out for breakfast as a family. He was most content with the simplest things as long as it involved his loved ones. Bill was a genuine, caring man who had a heart of gold who would go the extra step to lend anyone a helping hand at a time of need. His generosity had no limits and was willing to provide a listening ear and words of wisdom. He was a wealth of knowledge and a people person. Bill always knew how to approach a variety of situations. He was a natural at lifting other peoples spirits and could put a smile on anyone's face. He was a a big kid at heart with a great sense of humor and enjoyed making everyone laugh. Bill was known for being great at bringing people together, friends, family or even his coworkers and problem solving. In his free time he enjoyed traveling and attending antique vendors and classic car shows at Guptils, Syracuse Nationals, and Lake George. His love for cars and antiques extended beyond just car shows. He enjoyed watching "Nascar," "American Pickers," "Counting Cars," and collecting model cars of his own. He liked meeting up with friends and watching the races at Lebanon Valley and even enjoyed going on the Go Karts. Bill was known for being a Ford man and could tell you the year of any passing car. He always had a story or a personal memory to follow up with. On the weekends he loved making his famous pancakes for his daughters and to watch a movie as a family. Bill always woke up with a smile on his face and a positive attitude ready to take life head on. He was grateful for everything he had in life. Not a day went by he didn't tell his wife he loved her or how much his family meant to him. He bragged about his daughters accomplishments. He was a hardworker and loved staying busy. Bill was employed by SUNY Administration of Albany NY for over 20 years. His services will be held Tuesday, September 14th, 2021 at the W. J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home located at 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer, NY 12144 at 4PM. Calling hours are from 2-4pm. Family and friends are welcome to attend and pay their respects.
