William M. Coyne

Rensselaer- William M. Coyne, age 94, of Rensselaer, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY. Bill was born in Albany to the late Ethel M. Teator and Louis J. Coyne, Sr. Bill served his country honorably in the United States Navy for 6 years and then for 18 years in the United States Air Force. He retired from the United States Military as a Tech Sergeant. After his retirement from the military, he worked for Computer Science Corp. in Greenbelt, MD. Bill loved to play golf and was a lifetime VFW member. He knew how to put a smile on one’s face or make them laugh with his quick wit and sense of humor.

Bill was the loving husband of Irene Y. Daoust-Coyne and father of William (Mary) and David Coyne. He was the brother of the late Regina, Theresa, Ellen Jean, Vincent, and Joseph. He is also survived by his brothers, James Coyne and John (Mary) Coyne and by many nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025, at the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave. Rensselaer, NY 12144. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Bill’s family prior to the service, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.
