Drislane, Susan R. ALBANY Susan R. Drislane, 60, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2015, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Sue fought a courageous battle against cancer with the unconditional support of her family, friends, and coworkers. Sue spent her early years growing up in downstate New York before attending college at SUNY Albany, graduating with a bachelor's and master's degree in accounting in 1976 and in 1980. Sue spent more than 36 years as a CPA. At the time of her death, Sue was a tax partner in the CPA firm Teal Becker & Chiaramonte CPS PC in Albany, working along side with her husband, Jim; brother-in-law, Bob Drislane and sister-in-law, Kathleen Sullivan. Susan's courage facing her illness was an inspiration to everyone that she met, both professionally and socially. Throughout her remarkable life, Susan will be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness and strong desire to mentor those around her. Sue is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Jim; her son, Matthew (Lisset); daughter, Laura; and her granddaughter, Kaylee. Sue is survived by her mother, Edith Reiner of Croton on Hudson; her brothers, Martin Reiner (Janice) and Michael Reiner (Melissa); as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Julius Reiner. Susan was a wonderful, caring mother who will be sorely missed but never forgotten. The funeral will be held at Mater Cristi Church on Monday, October 26, 2015, at 11 a.m., where a celebration of her life and a prayer service will be offered. Interment will follow at Albany Rural Cemetery. In keeping with Sue's wishes there are no calling hours. The family wants to thank Dr. Shareef from NYOH for his care and compassion, as well as the numerous nurses and doctors Susan received treatment from during her illness. A special thank you to Ann Distin, a Hospice nurse for her outstanding care along with Mary Ellen Drislane, M.D. for her hands on care shown to Susan and her family. In lieu of flowers, for those wishing to remember Susan in a special way, the family asks for donations to be made to either the American Lung Association or Dana Farber Cancer Institute in furthering the treatment and improving the quality of life for Lung Cancer patients.
