Shirley Ann DeLorimiere

October 5, 1935 — December 9, 2024

Nassau-Shirley Ann DeLorimiere, age 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 9, 2024, at The Grand at Barnwell. She was born in 1935 to the late Sigmund and Anna (Davis) Ross.

A 1953 graduate of Van Rensselaer High School, Shirley worked for 23 years at Iroquois Millwork Corporation, and later at W.H. Clark Municipal Equipment until the company’s closure in 2011. Throughout her life, she was known for her deep care and love for her family, friends, and many pets, especially her cats and dogs. She was often quoted saying, “I have nothing to fear, and my troubles are all over. I am at home in heaven with my loved ones.”

Shirley will be dearly missed by her sister, Barbara Buscini, and former spouse Cal DeLorimiere; nieces and nephews, Lisa and David Rivage, Michael Buscini, Patricia Pillsworth, Tony Anadio, Tim and Heather Pillsworth, Shawn and Brittan Pillsworth, Jeannine Coons, and Stephen Ross; as well as many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her beloved husband, Cal DeLorimiere; brothers, Thomas Ross, William Ross, and Paul (Rose) Ross; sister, Eileen Pillsworth; and brothers-in-law, Herbert Pillsworth and Joseph Buscini.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph Church, Herrick Street, Rensselaer. A burial will follow immediately at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in East Greenbush.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley’s memory may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands, NY 12204, Mercy House, 12 St. Joseph’s Terrace, Albany, NY 12210, or to a charity of your choice.
