Sharon D. Bronson

April 28, 1944 — October 19, 2024

West Sand Lake- Sharon Diane (O’Brien) Bronson passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 19, 2024. She was born on April 28, 1944, in Binghamton, New York to the late Francis and Barbara (Pope) O’Brien. Her mother tells she was a pretty baby but she was unable to meet her father for many months as he was in the U.S. Army during WWII. Sharon attended school in the Windsor Public School District in Windsor, New York throughout most of her school years, however, due to a family move to Indiana, she graduated from Greencastle High School.

After high school graduation, Sharon returned to New York State where she married Harold Ralph Bronson. They married and became parents to Diane (Bronson) Kenneally and Dawn Bronson. Sharon attended the Kirkwood United Methodist Church and throughout the years helped with many outreach activities that included church dinners and helping individuals in the community. When a major flood occurred in Kirkwood she, with the help of her granddaughter, Haley (Bronson) Parker, helped deliver meals and other needed supplies to affected families.

Throughout the years, she traveled many times to Greencastle, Indiana visiting her parents, siblings, and other relatives.

Sharon struggled with many health issues over the years, but she never let it stop her from helping others. A talented seamstress, she made many quilts for family members and friends. In her later years, she moved to West Sand Lake, New York to be closer to her family. She became one of the sewing ladies at a local church again helping to raise money for others in need.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane (Michael) Kenneally of East Greenbush, N.Y. and Dawn Bronson of Woburn, M.A.; grandchildren, Haley (Joseph) Parker of Dracut, M.A., Michael and Christopher Kenneally of East Greenbush, N.Y., and a great-grandson, Ryan Adamson of Dracut, M.A. She is also survived by her sister, Gail (O’Brien) Tharp of Danville, I.N. and many loving nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death is her husband, Harold Ralph Bronson; parents, Francis and Barbara O’Brien; siblings, Jack, James, Gene “Bill” O’Brien and Nancy (O’Brien) McMains.
