Samuel J. Burdick

Rensselaer- Samuel J. Burdick, 61, passed away on December 1, 2021. Sam was born in New York City, and lived most of his life in Rensselaer. He was the son of the late Millie Dongarra. Sam was predeceased by his younger sister Cathrine Ojeda-Burdick. He is survived by his loving wife Virginia Burdick; son Daniel Burdick (Lindsay); grandson Samuel Burdick; sisters Mary Ellen Burdick, Sandra Burdick, and Josephine Gonzalez-Burdick; and many loving nieces and nephews. Sam was a father figure to many and known to most as “Pops.” He led a full life characterized by kindness, a large sense of humor, a love of comics and books, and immense familial pride. One of Sam’s greatest passions was being an owner of Gotham City Comics in East Greenbush. Pops’ wishes were to have no formal services, but for family to have a celebration of life in his honor, currently being planned for spring. - Batman Forever-
