Rexford- It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ruthann (Palladino) Cust, who departed from this world on June 11, 2024, at the age of 67, peacefully at the Delmar Center. Born in Albany, she was the cherished daughter of the late Charles F. and Ruth Palladino.
A dedicated individual, Ruthann devoted her professional life to enriching the lives of the elderly as the activities director at Kingsway Manor in Schenectady. Her compassion and unwavering commitment to supporting others shone through her work and her involvement in fundraising for Alzheimer's research.
Ruthann was a woman of strong Christian faith. She found joy in simple pleasures, often embarking on long car rides with her beloved husband, Bruce. She had a passion for culinary arts using her mother's beloved recipes and was known to constantly explore new recipes she discovered online. Her care extended to her loyal dog, Jay, who remained by her side until the end.
Ruthann will be dearly missed by her soulmate and husband, Bruce D. Callihoo-Cust, siblings Dori (Terry) Garrett, Charles E. Palladino, and Andrew (Katherine) Palladino, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation to celebrate Ruthann's life will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 4-6 pm at the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, located at 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 9 am at the Community Gospel Church in Rensselaer. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
