Ronald Atchinson

Rensselaer-Ronald W. Atchinson age, 50 years, passed away at his residence on Wednesday March 22, 2017. He was born in Albany and has been a resident of Rensselaer for most of his life. Ron enjoyed spending time in the woods hunting and fishing and especially looked forward to his fishing trips to Canada. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR fan. His biggest enjoyment in life was spending time with his grandchildren. Son of John Atchinson and the late Regina Cranney Atchinson; father of Shannon (Justin) Miers of Rensselaer; grandfather of Celina and Justin, Jr. Miers; brother of Joan Atchinson of Troy, Nick Atchinson of North Greenbush and Jacquelyn (Wade) Heffner of Wynantskill. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
