Albany-Roger C. Schreffler entered eternal life on June 13, 2024 after a lengthy illness. A ham radio enthusiast, Roger was also known for his love of riding motorcycles and flying radio-controlled helicopters and drones. His career choices reflected these passions, as he pursued positions as a photographer and later in life, as a truck driver.
Roger was born in the New York City area to the late Charles and Ann (Carensky) Schreffler. In addition to his parents, Roger was predeceased by his brothers, Gregory and John and his sister Audrey (a/k/a Diane Sinclair) and her daughter, Cheryl Comenzo.
He is survived by his sons, Raymond (fiancee Melissa), Gregory and Christopher (Janice), his granddaughters Gabrielle (Charles) Phelps and Elizabeth (Bruce) Anderson and six great-grandchildren, one of whom has passed into eternal life. He is also survived by his good friends, Honora Decker and Debby Ackerman.
The family would like to thank the staff of Ghent Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and Albany Medical Center for their compassion, care and support of Roger.
Services will be held at Graceland Cemetery & Mausoleum, 680 Delaware Ave, Albany, New York on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 1:30 pm.
