Richard Kennedy

Rensselaer- Richard J. "Dick" Kennedy age 84 passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Albany and was a lifelong resident of the city of Rensselaer. Mr. Kennedy was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War. Dick was a steam fitter at Sterling Drug Co. in Rensselaer. He enjoyed traveling, his time at camp, but his biggest joy was his grandchildren and his grand dogs. He was a life member of the James Hill Hook and Ladder Co., The VFW Post #7338 in East Greenbush, the Gerald O'Neil American Legion Post 1683 and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Son of the late Alfred D. and Evelyn Munger Kennedy. Husband of 62 years to Anna Hoffman Kennedy. Father of Dean (Deb) Kennedy, Robert (Terry) Kennedy and Lori (Gary) Robichaud. Grandfather of Michelle Kennedy, Dylan Robichaud, Ryan Kennedy, Shane Robichaud, Sean Kennedy, Katherine Kennedy and the late Jennifer Kennedy. Brother of the late Virginia Lewanick, Jean Albert, Daniel Kennedy and Patricia Redden. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer, Sunday at 5PM. Relatives and friends are invited and may call to the funeral home prior to the service from 2-5PM. Interment will be held at 10AM on Monday at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in East Greenbush.
