East Greenbush- Raymond A. LaBelle age 85 of East Greenbush died Thursday morning after a long battle Emphysema; born in Albany on April 16, 1931, he was the son of Raymond S. and Fleurette Blais LaBelle. He attended St. Joseph's Academy and Philip Schuyler High School. He enlisted in the US Army National Guard in December 1948, and retired 43 years later as a Chief Warrant Officer 4, in May of 1991. He was also employed full time in the National Guard as a US Property and Fiscal Officer, retiring after 32 years. He was a life member of North Albany American Legion Post, Rensselaer Lodge of Elks BPOE #2073 and the K of C Albany. He enjoyed many years of camping in his RV and trips to Las Vegas and Saratoga with Joan. Beloved husband of Joan Hart LaBelle whom he married 64 years ago. Father of Lee J. LaBelle of Guilderland and Richard P. (Eileen) LaBelle of East Greenbush, Grandfather of Michele, Adrien, Courtney and Sean. Great-grandfather of Haylie and Ayden. Step-grandfather of John and the late Robbie. Brother of Frances (Henry) Emerich of Clarksville, NY. Also survived by two nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held from Historic St. Mary's Church in Albany Wednesday morning at 9:00. Calling hours will be Tuesday at the W. J. Lyons Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer from 4-7 PM. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery East Greenbush.
