Ralph Grounds

Richmond, VA- Ralph David Grounds, Sr. age 73 of Richmond passed away in Averill Park, NY on Saturday Sept. 10, 2016. He was born in Albany, NY and resided in Colonie, NY before moving to Richmond approximately 50 years ago. Mr. Grounds was a pest control technician for over 30 years. He was an US Army Veteran, serving overseas in Germany and Thailand and was an expert marksman. Ralph was very proud of his military service in the US Army, loved to hunt and fish and was a man of strong values and morals. Son of the late Ralph M. and Ella J. Thiedmann Grounds. Father of Angela Weller, Dawn Grounds, Ralph D. Grounds, Jr. and Ralph E.T. Grounds. Brother of Elaine Church, Donald Grounds and Deborah Bauer. Grandfather of Nicholas Gunter, Ryan Gunter, Kaysee and Joshua Lohmann, Justin Wolfe, Nathan David Grounds and Gwyneth Grounds. Funeral from the W. J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Thursday afternoon at 12:00. All are welcome to attend. Calling hours will be at the funeral home prior to the funeral from 10:00AM to 12:00 PM Interment will be at Jerusalem Cemetery Feura Bush, NY.
