Peter M. Brown

November 13, 1958 — December 22, 2021

Rensselaer- Peter “Pete” Brown, 63, passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 22, 2021 due to complications of Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born in Warsaw, NY, to the late Earl “Pete” and Margaret (Harrison) Brown. Pete was a Rensselaer High School graduate and football standout. In his earlier years, he was involved with the East Greenbush Little League and Pop Warner Football. Pete retired with over 30 years of service from N.Y.S. O.G.S as an HVAC engineer. Before Alzheimer’s took away his life, Pete enjoyed fishing, traveling, hiking, taking long walks, good food, and coffee. Despite his stubbornness and sometimes cutting remarks, he was a generous and caring person. He was also a lifelong Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Eagles fan. Husband of the loving Theresa Brown, who was also his caregiver, and father to Jason and Jared Brown. He is also survived by his favorite sister and brother-in-law, Jackie (John) Leonard, and their children, Tara (Halacy) Campbell and Tanner Leonard. Handsome Pete was the third of eight children. His surviving siblings include brothers, Mikal (Sheila), Patrick (Mary), Tim (Collene), Bobby, Matthew, Nathan (Nikki) and his sister, Kelly. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews on the Brown side of the family. We are comforted knowing that Pete is at peace and is free from Alzheimer’s. A special thank you is extended to our family and friends for their support over the past years. In honoring Pete’s wishes there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pete’s name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 8180 Greensboro Drive, Suite 400, McLean, VA 22102; the Community Hospice Foundation at 310 S.
