Peter S. Bilicki

January 25, 1950 — April 12, 2025

Peter S. Bilicki, 75, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Born January 25, 1950, in Albany, NY, Peter was the son of the late John and Harriett Hennessey Bilicki. Peter was raised in Colonie, NY and lived in the Capital District area for most of his life until finally relocating to his favorite vacation spot, North Myrtle Beach, with his loving wife, Mary Jane.

On March 13, 1971, Peter married the love of his life, Mary Jane DeMarco. They were blessed with three children and six beautiful grandchildren.

Having vacationed in the Myrtle Beach area since 1978, in 2013 he and Mary Jane officially made their home in North Myrtle Beach. Upon their move to the area, they joined his brother John (wife Kathy), as well as several other family members, becoming residents and active members of the Tidewater Community. Throughout the course of his life, Peter's warm and caring nature made it incredibly easy to make lifelong friendships with so many people. His free and loving demeanor, along with his humor, drew people to him, and you always wanted to know what he was going to say or do next.

Peter spent his 35-year career in the wholesale floral industry eventually becoming a founding member and Vice President of Seagroatt Riccardi, Ltd. in Latham, NY. Peter became a leader in the wholesale floral business as an accomplished buyer and was well respected throughout the industry, traveling to multiple countries, such as South America and Holland, inspecting floral farms and making business connections with the growers. He also served on many committees, receiving multiple recognitions for his work. In 1995, he served on the US Department of Agriculture as a member of the National Promoflor Council. From 2003-2006 he served as the Northeastern Regional Director for the Wholesale Florist & Supplier Association (WF&FSA). In 2011, Peter was awarded the Leland T. Kentzele Distinguished Service Award, which is the most prestigious and highest award given within the wholesale florist industry.

Peter's most redeeming quality was his love for his family. It showed whenever he spoke about his children and grandchildren. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 54 years, Mary Jane, are his children, Kristen Bilicki (Scott Menz), Adrienne (Chris) Dannehy, Stefan (Heidi) Bilicki; grandchildren, Ethan, Ella, Colin, John, Katherine, Shelby; and brother, John (Kathy) Bilicki, as well as many brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Peter is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lou Halburian.
