It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mildred R. Cooley, who left us peacefully on January 31, 2025, at the age of 100. Born in New York Mills, on November 8, 1924. She was the daughter of Joseph Ziemian and Rosalia Tomasik, and also was lovingly cared for by her stepfather, John Poczatek.
Mildred dedicated her life to caring for her home and family. She was a loving, kind, and compassionate woman who always found joy in making her loved ones feel special. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Mildred took great pride in creating warm, memorable holidays and gatherings. Her love for cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family brought her immense joy. She was known for her kind patient nature, deep gratitude for the simple things in life, warm smile, and infectious laughter, which could often be heard filling the room with warmth and joy.
Mildred shared a deep bond with her late husband, Harry T. Cooley. Together, they enjoyed raising a family and many years of travel, spending winters in South Carolina and enjoying time at their second home in Florida.
She is survived by her loving family, Pamela Neary, Nancy Dorr (Mike), Mary Jo Janis (James), and Timothy Cooley along with grandchildren Sean Neary, Colleen Hensley, Jeffrey McCauley, Christa Dugan, Kelly Freeland, Jamie Palmer, Adam Janis, and Taylor Janis, along with their significant others. Mildred's family also includes many nieces, nephews, 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.
