Mildred Canam

North Greenbush- Mildred Louise "Lou" Chartier Bacon Canam age 86 went to walk with the Lord today. She was born to Mary and Wilfred Chartier from Riverview, NY. She was one of 14 children. Preceded in death by Alfred (Viola) Chartier, Theresa (Peter) Strock, Richard (Charlotte) Chartier, Valida (Iggy) Salons, Andrew (Madeline) Chartier, and Joe Chartier. Ursala, Marie and Lawrence Chartier died as children. Survived by Rosemary wife of Joe Chartier, Edward (Betty) Chartier, Fred (Beverly) Chartier, James (Barbara) Chartier and William (Marie) Chartier. Wife of the late Arthur R. Bacon who died at the age of 31 and left her with 4 children to raise. Remarried to the late Henry H. Canam. Where they lived and resided in North Greenbush since 1967. Loving mother to Wilfred (Tammy) Bacon of Albany, Mary Lou (Jack) Collins of Florida, Thomas Bacon (Linda) of North Greenbush, Tina (Thomas) Kulzer of Menands. She has several loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews. She was a long standing member of the Uncle Sam Wilson Club, and St Michael's Church. She went to church every Sunday no matter what the weather was. For years she belonged to a bowling league. She loved to play BINGO, cards and pool. She loved getting together with family and friends. She will be missed. The last two years she resided at Van Rensselaer Manor and we thank them for all there care and compassion they have giving to her and our family. Donations can be made to Van Rensselaer Manor in Lou Canam name. Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Thursday at 12 PM. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call to the funeral home prior to the service from 10-12 PM.
