Danaher, Maureen MELROSE Maureen Danaher, age 71, of Melrose, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. Maureen was born and raised in Troy and resided in Melrose, and Rock Hill, NY. She was a self-employed barber/stylist/cosmetologist for more than 30 years. Maureen had extensive training in her field and was the first female barber in New York State. She was a National Educator for Hair America, taught at Alfred University, and was also a judge at the national level. She competed with the MOKKATO team as well as in the Hair Olympics, receiving many awards and silver medals. Maureen was a member of several associations, including the New York State Hair Designer's Guild and the International Hair Styling Association. A forever faithful, compassionate, devoted, loving and proud Irish woman, Maureen leaves behind many family members that she cherished. Survived by loving partner Raymond Yannick; sons, Bruce and Mark LeFebvre and Wade Sanborn; grandchildren, Meaghan (Ben) Davis and Michael LeFebvre; Jessica Yannick; great-grandchildren, Rileigh, Kaidence and Alaina Davis; and siblings Marion Johnson and John (Deb) Danaher. Predeceased by her parents, James Danaher, Sr. and Marion Foley Danaher; brother James Danaher, Jr. and granddaughter Dominique LeFebvre. Also survived by many other family members and long-time friends. A memorial service with be held at Living Hope United Methodist Church in Waterford, Saturday at 10 a.m. (gathering), service to begin at 10:30 a.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to Living Hope United Methodist Church, 126 Middletown Rd, Waterford, NY 12188.
