Mary D. Mastrangelo

Mary Diana (Swain) Mastrangelo passed away peacefully on Friday, October 14th, 2022. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, the late Emil Mastrangelo. Born and raised in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Cecilia Swain. She was the beloved little sister of the late Edward Mallia and Albert Mallia.

Mary was a true "New Yorker" who loved listening to Frank Sinatra, eating oysters, and gambling at the casinos. She danced on the Alan Freed show, The Big Beat, in the 1950s. She loved to travel and to entertain. She was a generous hostess and cook; her family looked forward every year to her Maltese pastizzi.

She is survived by children Laura Mastrangelo (Lori DelRosso) and Anthony Mastrangelo (Lisa Mastrangelo) and granddaughters Emily Gudewicz and Grace Mastrangelo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial October 22, 2022, at 10am at St. Anthony’s Church, 36 W. Nyack Road, Nanuet, NY 10954. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org).
