Rensselaer- Mary Ellen Scofield (Conrad) passed away peacefully at Delmar Center Nursing Facility in Delmar surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 15, 2021. Mary Ellen was born in Cairo, NY and the daughter of Phillip and Cornelia Conrad and has been a resident of Rensselaer/East Greenbush for over 60 years. As well as being a lifetime homemaker for her family, Mary worked and retired as a designer and seamstress for over 30 years at Scofield's Interior Decorating Shop of Rensselaer. Mary was predeceased by her parents and her husband Gerald F. Scofield, Sr. as well as her daughters Deborah Wilson, Frances Hicks and Donna Pratt. She is survived by her sons, Gerald F. (Kathleen) Scofield of Averill Park and Roger W. (Rebecca) Scofield of Schaghticoke. Mary is also survived by her grandchildren, Ashlee, William, Emma, Braden and Cooper Scofield, David Wilson, Kyle and Samantha Robitaille, Jeffrey, Jackie-Ray and Stephanie Hicks and several great-grandchildren. The family would like to express a special thank you to Laura, Varsha and Corrine of Hospice. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Community Hospice, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY, 12205. Funeral in the W. J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer on Friday at 2 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday, from 12 to 2 p.m. Interment will be in Bloomingrove Cemetery, Defreestville.
